Introducing Chirp Skate

We built Chirp Skate because we kept wondering the same thing at the grocery store: did this go up? Here's the story.

We built Chirp Skate to answer one frustrating question: did this get more expensive?

You grab your usual box of pasta, toss it in the cart, and somewhere in the back of your mind you wonder if it cost this much last month. You can’t remember. There’s no easy way to check. You pay it anyway.

That moment — happening dozens of times a year — is what Chirp Skate is designed to fix.

What it does

Chirp Skate is a price tracking app for your household. Every time you buy something, you log it: the store, the item, the price, and the quantity. Over time, you build a history that answers the questions you’ve always been guessing at.

Did eggs go up at Costco? Check.
Is the store brand actually cheaper per ounce? Check.
When did coffee start costing this much? Check.

Receipt scanning

Logging every purchase manually sounds tedious, so we made it fast. Snap a photo of your receipt and Chirp Skate’s AI scanning pulls out every item — name, price, quantity — and drops them into the right categories automatically. A full grocery run takes about 30 seconds to log.

Unit cost comparison

Price per package is almost meaningless when sizes vary. A 32 oz bottle of olive oil at $8.99 and a 16 oz bottle at $5.49 — which is cheaper? Chirp Skate calculates cost-per-unit so the answer is always right there.

Household sharing

Invite your partner, roommates, or family. Everyone logs purchases to the same household history. You see what they bought; they see what you bought. No more two half-gallons of milk because nobody checked.

What’s next

We’re just getting started. Barcode scanning, price alerts, and smarter analytics are all on the roadmap. If there’s a feature you’d like to see, reach out at privacy@chirpskate.com — we read everything.

Chirp Skate is available on iOS and Android.
